FAQs
Got a question about our frozen fruit bars?
Ingredients & Allergy Facts
Is this sorbet? Is it ice cream? What's up?
TBH, great question! While our frozen fruit bars are technically not ice cream -- they're also not your mama's sorbet and definitely not a standard icy popsicle. From our earliest days at the farmer's market, we've been driven by the goal of innovating sorbet, which is traditionally just made with water, sugar, and fruit, to create a smooth, creamy, scoopable treat with nut butter and coconut cream. Our current line of frozen fruits bars is inspired by our sorbet roots, but in a category entirely its own, with a smooth, creamy center that eats like the most decadent craft ice cream bar, dipped in a candylike shell with a crunch.
TLDR - we're in a league all our own. We suggest letting you tastebuds be the judge.
Are your frozen fruit bars dairy-free? Are they lactose-free?
All of SorBabes' frozen fruit bar flavors are 100% dairy free and lactose free. Because we're all about that flavor, not dairy. Dairy, or even dairy alternatives, actually block flavor receptors! So when we set out to create the most flavorful fruit bars ever, we knew dairy had no place in our frozen fruit bars. The magic of real fruit is all we needed. Skeptical a dairy-free treat could live up to your standards? Again, let your tastebuds be the judge! ;)
Are your frozen fruit bars certified Kosher?
I suffer from allergies; what do I need to know about where your frozen fruit bars are created? Is there a possibility of cross contamination?

Why Aren't Your Products Keto/Sugar Free/Lower Calorie?
Here's the scoop: our flavorful frozen fruit bars keep it real real with no artificial sweeteners, no artificial anything, and only farm-to-freezer plant-based ingredients. But we're not a diet ice cream. We're chasing flavor, creaminess, and decadent more than we care about a calorie count. If you'd care to join us, we invite you to ditch outdated diet rules and dessert like a mother. You can chillax about our nutrition label -- our frozen fruit bars are undeniable better-for-you than many other options in the freezer aisle -- but designed to be a treat that brings pure joy (the whole point of dessert, we'd argue!)
Is sorbet healthier than ice cream?
We all scream for ice cream, but we think it's time for our sorbet-inspired frozen fruit bars to get the same love. Sorbet is actually the world's OG frozen dessert, while being naturally vegan and gluten-free (and when made right, like we think we do it, just as creamy and decadent!)
Words like "healthier" depend on your definition and what you're looking for, but when comparing SorBabes to traditional ice cream bars or even vegan ice cream bars, ours are far lower in calories, sugar, and fat than many options out there. And because we believe in treating yourself, the planet, and animals right, our flavors contain zero dairy, artificial sweeteners, or ingredients you can't pronounce.

What is the difference between sherbet and sorbet?
Glad you asked! Sherbet and sorbet are often referred to interchangeably, but they're quite different treats. Yes, they're both creamy, cool, and delicious, but sherbet typically contains dairy like milk or cream (and sometimes eggs.) Sorbet does not.
Sorbet - the world's oldest frozen dessert, hailing from Persia around 550 BCE (truly the OG!), is traditionally a frozen blend of fruit, fruit juice, and sweetener. We've jazzed ours up to eat more like a rich ice cream bar, with delicious inclusions like nut butters, coconut milk, swirls of caramel, and candy-like shells, but all our sorbet remains dairy-free and made with real fruit -- true to its roots.
While we're on the subject, is gelato the same thing as sorbet? Are sherbet and gelato the same? No and no! All three are distinctly different treats, with gelato being a close cousin of ice cream and containing some dairy but less than ice cream. Gelato has a lower milk fat percentage than ice cream and is mixed with less air. We could geek out about this all day!
Shipping/Returns
How do you ship frozen dessert?
When your bars arrive, please use care and never handle dry ice with bare hands!
Why are the frozen fruit bars more expensive online than at my store?
We began offering nationwide shipping during the pandemic, and because we love being to offer the luxury of dessert delivered to your doorstep with the click of a button! And because we don't yet have worldwide domination (but working on it!) The price you see online reflects the costs for us to pay our warehouse crew, cover shipping materials and staff, transport costs, and the retail price of the bars themselves.
Can I return my frozen fruit bars?
Flavors & Finding Us
Why can’t I find your bars at my local grocery store?
You can always order our frozen fruit bars online to get your fix. And find your nearest store here. You can also request us here -- customer requests go a long way in helping us get onto more shelves!
The site locator says you're at my local store, but I'm not seeing SorBabes there. Help!?
What happened to the pint flavors?
We know change is hard, but sometimes it’s also crazy delicious! We hope you can fall in love with our frozen fruit bars just as much (basically pints on a stick,) and rejoice in a single-serving (read: no having to share!) dessert that dirties zero dishes.
Sustainability and Ethics
Where is your chocolate sourced and what measures do you take to ensure ethical, fair labor practices in the harvesting and production of your cocoa?
Is your packaging recyclable?
Treating the planet right is core to who we are as humans and a brand, and reducing the amount of single-use plastic in our landfills is another reason we chose to produce bars instead of pints.
How do you give back?
We are proud to support the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, an award-winning international charity dedicated to planting fruit, nut and medicinal trees to alleviate world hunger, combat global pollution of the environment, strengthen communities, and improve the surrounding air, soil, and water.
Their programs strategically donate orchards, training, and aftercare where the harvest will best serve communities for generations -- including public schools, city parks, community gardens, food banks, low-income neighborhoods, Native American reservations, international hunger relief sites, and animal sanctuaries.
With each box sold of our frozen fruit bars, you're supporting their incredible work. Cheers to that!
